SOCIALCARE

SOCIALCARE is a central digital meeting point, where all stakeholders in a local community can come together. The SOCIALCARE community platform makes it possible to exchange offers and demands from people, associations and service providers as well as to organise volunteering work. According to the care need, different functionalities and service providers can be added to the platform. The project is testing and piloting the social and technological solutions in two pilot countries (in Austria and in the Netherlands), adapting them to country specific situations. The role of the JOIN Office is to regularly pass on the SOCIALCARE´s technology and results to local Belgium partner organisations in the Brussels-Capital Region and to the JOIN Network.

The JOIN Office and Johanniter Austria were the project partners responsible for developing a plan for acceptance of the project by end users in local conditions. Johanniter Austria has been very active in providing the materials necessary for conducting user-centred research and it has taken care of ethical and data protection manual for the project. Johanniter International has contributed by sharing its well-established experience on sustainable involvement of volunteers and by disseminating the results both to our local partners in Brussels and to the JOIN members. At a local community level, the JOIN Office aimed to ensure the compatibility of SOCIALCARE within the Brussels Capital Region. Four local care organisations were involved in the various stages of the project through consultation and regular focus group meetings.

The project started in May 2015 and has successfully been finished in the end of 2017.
